What is ISO 14001?
ISO 14001 sets out the requirements for an environmental management system. It enables an organisation to protect the environment, fulfil its compliance obligations and improve its environmental performance.
In Algeria, the regulatory foundation is Law No. 03-10 on environmental protection in the context of sustainable development, supplemented by activity-specific texts.

Frequently asked questions
Is certification mandatory in Algeria?
No, it is voluntary. It is, however, often required by main contractors and in tenders. Regulations apply in every case.
Can this standard be combined with the other two?
Yes. ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 share the same structure, so they can form one integrated QHSE system audited in a single visit.
How long does certification take?
It depends on your starting point and company size. The system also needs to run for a few months before the audit. [Typical range to be confirmed by HDAPEX.]
